Using Honey Jars In Rituals & Spells

Honey Jar Rituals in general, are very ancient and have evolved throughout the years. Jars have been found with spell ingredients in them throughout Europe and they are popular in modern American folk magick today. Specifically, sweetener jar spells have been brought to modern awareness by Hoodoo practitioners, though honey isn’t a traditional ingredient. There are many variations a practitioner can use to perform them.

To sweeten someone or something to you. Basically the honey jar spell is intended to “sweeten” someone’s disposition toward you. To draw to you the favor of a situation, person, place, or thing. Think of the phrase, “ that boy is sweet on you girl.” When you read that, what image does that conjure? Do you think of a boy that has a crush on a girl? How does he act toward her if he is “sweet” on her? How does she act toward him knowing that she also is sweet on him? This is in essence what a honey jar spell is all about. Of course, the honey jar spell needn’t be only deployed when we want to win the romantic affection of someone. You can craft with a honey jar to sweeten anything or anyone to you. It is particularly helpful for organizations, such as banks, juries, legal entities, companies you wish to work for or hope will give you a good deal, etc..

This sweetening that we seek is already present in the multiverse. Using a honey jar spell is simply caressing this energy to move in your direction. This can be achieved with sweeteners other than honey such as (regular cane sugar, syrup, or even candy bars). You can also use a white saucer, sugar, and a candle in the center. If it’s sweet, try it! And let me know how it worked out for you.

NOTE: Never be constrained by what you do not have to process a spell or ritual. If you want to wait to gather all that you think you need, do so. If you want to improvise and substitute some things, do that. If you have no correspondences at the time, do it anyway. Our intent is the most powerful of all the energies that we impose on a spell. Of course, the curios have energy. Of course they aide the spell or ritual or whatever, but they don’t MAKE it. Have confidence in what you are doing and move on it.

Although jars are very convenient for spellwork, you do not have to use a jar. You can use any container that you wish. A coffee cup, tabletop, sugar bowl or cookie jar, any old container will do. It doesn’t even need to have a lid, but if it doesn’t, you could get ants or flies. However, if you just need it for a very short period of time, for the day, perhaps, a lid isn’t necessary. Just know that jars last much longer than if you do the sweetening spell in an open-air source, and when you are done with the spell, you would need to bury the components. Either way you choose the spell is no less effective. It really is about you and your style and flow. As long as your intent is clear it should work.

TIPS:

  • You can gather herbs, stones, and other arrays of other elements for their energy and meaning that you want to be in the jar.
  • Jars allow you to consciously focus more energy on a particular aspect of the spell that may come to you at any given time by gazing into the jar.
  • You can have your honey jar just sitting on your counter, or dresser etc and no one will be the wiser depending on how you have it setup.
  • Those glass Christmas ornaments they sell for $1 a dozen right after the holidays would work just as well too, You just pop off the metal top to use for jar spells, they are pretty and you can hang them up above the altar (less clutter) and you can incorporate color if you like.

How to Perform a Honey Jar Ritual

I have found the honey jar to be a very effective tool. Like a crystal, they contain an immense amount of energy and intention that just keeps amplifying and amplifying and reverberating through the cosmos.

Below is a recipe of how to put together and work a honey jar spell. Feel free to add on and take away whatever you see fit. You do not HAVE to use a candle if you don’t have one, or if you don’t want to. In fact, some old school ways of doing sweetening spells made it impossible to even place a candle on top of the vessel that held the sweetener.

This tells us that it is not necessary. As times change, so do elements of magick. New technologies, and new inventions etc. bring new or varied ways of performing certain workings. This one is no exception.

TIMING:

Waxing moon, you can tweak it according to what you’re using the honey jar spell for. Legal in Libra, social clubs in Gemini, etc.

CHOOSING YOUR HONEY JAR RITUAL CONTENTS:

Deciding on the contents is basically the ‘meat’ of this magickal working. While there is no limit to what you can choose to include, it’s important to select things that will help you work toward your ultimate goal. I like to choose things from the following categories:

PERSONAL ITEMS:

A photograph, hair, nail clippings, blood or other personal item is crucial to your spell. You could also use a name written on paper. This should be of the person you are casting the spell on—so if you’re casting the spell for yourself, you’d use your own picture, item or name. If casting the spell for a friend or on someone else (such as a spell to get a bully to leave you alone), you would use their photo, name or item.

WRITTEN INTENT OR PRAYER:

There is a lot of power in words, so I always find it helpful to write my intent on something and slip it into the curse jar. If you are seeking the aid of a deity in your jar spell, you can write a note to them asking for their assistance.

LIQUIDS:

Generally, the bottle should contain some liquid, but which liquid you choose depends on your intent.

Urine is used for protection jars and jars to break a curse, but can also be used for manipulative spells over others.

Honey, sugar water or some kind of nectar is used when you want to compel someone or something. This is because if you were seeking to make friends, to be more persuasive, to soothe over hurt feelings, etc., you’d want to ‘sweeten’ their disposition.

Ammonia is used for ‘cleansing’, when you want to banish negativity or malevolent entities, or when you wish to start anew with a ‘clean slate’. Safety note: never burn candles on ammonia and do not place ammonia jars near heat, as it can be explosive and flammable.

Tinctures, infusions, oils, etc. can be used for a multitude of purposes, such as blessings for health or prosperity and the like. Naturally, you should choose something based on your intent—for example, a money spell might include a tincture, infusion or oil made from money-drawing herbs like cinnamon or mint.

Water can be used, but I don’t really recommend plain water. At the very least, you can make a herbal infusion with it to give it more of a boost. I personally think heavily salted and blessed water can be good for purification purposes, but beyond that, I would avoid plain tap water.

SOLIDS:

Like with liquids, there are different types of solids that you can choose from based on your intent. You can be pretty creative with this! Here are a few examples:

Heart-shaped glitter or confetti might go into a jar spell to draw love. You might even tie a ribbon around the whole jar to hold on to love, or to bind someone.

In a money-related jar spell, you might include some coins (preferably with the year of your birth printed on them).
If I wanted to break the writer’s block, I might make a jar spell with a small pencil and roll of paper wrapped around it.

HERBS AND CRYSTALS:

Two items that are both magically powerful and easy to come by are crystals and herbs. You can find a variety of them anywhere, and they are able to carry the energy that you’ll want to put into your spell. Below, I include a quick reference chart for herbs and crystals that you can refer to if you’re new to working with them.

That said, I highly recommend studying up and familiarizing yourself with some basic herbs and/or crystals you might have access to (my chart only scratches the surface). The more you work with herbs and crystals and get a feel for them, the more skilled you will become at spellcraft.

At the end of the day, just use your noggin and think of things that give off the kind of energy you’re interested in raising. They’ll be even better for your spell if they’re personally meaningful to you (vs. only using items that are commonly associated with your goal).

NOTE: This is not a comprehensive list, but there should be plenty of suggestions to get you.

ITEMS REQUIRED:

  • A jar with a lid.
    A pen or pencil.
    Candle dressing oils.
Candles with the appropriate color energy.
Herbs that have the energetic flow of what you want to conjure.
Honey, sugar, or something else sweet (syrup, nectar, molasses etc. anything you have on hand. If you know what your target prefers, you can use that. Otherwise, use what you like.)
An item representing the target. A business card or promotional item, a piece of natural paper with the target’s signature, a photograph ( chewed on chewing gum, curios, fingernails, hair, menstrual blood etc.) NOTE: (if you have no idea why someone would use these optional items chances are you shouldn’t use them. If you’re curious, do some research into bodily concerns regarding magick.)
An image of yourself or your business. (This is optional, it’ll work as well without this bit.)

  • STEPS:

Clean and cleanse the jar well. You can reuse any jar, just be sure to soak and scrub the label off completely, wash it well and cleanse it of any former influences. Charge all items toward your intent. Declare the purpose of each item by saying something appropriate. For example “This business card shall represent the mortgage company.” “This photograph represents my family” “This jar shall contain my spell” “The sweetness of this honey shall sweeten the disposition of those who taste of it.

NOTE: Remember, just as you cleansed and consecrated your spell jar, so you must do with the items that you plan to fill it with. If the objects you have chosen are not spiritually clean (i.e. on an energy level), your spell will be less likely to help you attain your goal.

Take Your piece of paper. Tear the paper so that it is small but not tiny. If sweetening a particular person towards you then write the person’s name on the paper. If sweetening certain “forces” toward yourself, write your name and the attributes that you wish to sweeten your way. This is a good time to do a crossover and cover if you wish. Which is to say, your name written atop of person that you wish to sweeten toward yourself. Draw an unending circle around what you have just written. Lifting your pencil only after the circle is complete. Fold the paper. Speak your petition aloud. Fold the paper again. Speak your petition aloud again. Do this three times.

Place the representation of the target inside the jar and tape the representation of yourself outside the jar so that the image of the target is facing the image of yourself. Now pour the honey or sugar or whatever into the jar completely covers the target object but leaving a small space so that when your items go into the jar, the honey doesn’t spill down the sides of the jar. Taste a bit of the honey and say something appropriate three times, like “As this honey is sweet to me, so will your thoughts of me, let honey flow from your lips as you speak of me. Listen with delighted ears as I make my request and fulfill it with joy in your heart ” Repeat this incantation 3 times.

Add in all the items that you have ready to go into the spell. Many folks wish to breathe three of their breaths into the jar at this time. It is yet another way to enclose your own energy into the jar to further the spell. After you do that, place the lid tightly onto the jar. Sit with the jar in your hands. Spend a moment meditating on your intentions and all the goodness that you just did.

Clean up your area and place the honey jar on your altar, somewhere nearby or wherever you choose and dress your candle with the appropriate oils, place it on top of the jar lid, light the candle and let it burn all the way out, keep it there until it’s done its job. If for some reason you must extinguish the candle before it burns out, do so by licking your fingers and smashing the wick between your fingers. Alternatively, you can use a snuffer if you have one. Never blow your candles out. Be sure to shake or swirl your jar in between candle lighting to prevent stagnation.

Over the course of time, you can recharge the spell by repeating your intention while adding another candle or tealight when one burns down or while opening it up and add a few more drops of honey (or whatever sweetener you used) while repeating your intention. You can perform this periodically if you want, approx three times a week or more depending. Over time, after you begin to see the results, you can space out the candle usage if you wish until the honey jar has it’s done its job.

Now that you’ve completed your honey jar spell, there are a few different options for you on what to do with it. You can bury it, hide it, toss it in water, keep it on your altar, or dismantle it. Which you choose depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.

ONLY BURY THE JAR IF…

  • You are seeking permanent protection or to break or repel a curse. This will stand sentry on your property and protect you (or on the property of the person for whom you cast the jar spell). If you don’t have land of your own, you can bury it in a flowerpot of soil left by your doorstep.

  • You want your jar to be a ‘magnet’ of sorts to continue to draw things to you (attention, health, wealth, etc.). Bury it on your property or the property of the person you’re casting for and be done with it.

  • You are trying to rid yourself of something (or rid the person you’re casting for of something), like a disease or bad habit. Bury the jar at a crossroads, don’t look back, and (ideally) never return.

  • You are casting a spell on another unbeknownst to them (but remember your ethics!). Bury it on their property—ideally somewhere they cross over every day, like beneath their doorstep.
  •

ONLY HIDE THE JAR IF…

  • You want to bury it, but burying it is not an option. In this case, just hide it deep in the home somewhere—inside a wall, in the junk closet, or wherever it won’t be disturbed.

  • You plan on dismantling it sometime in the future, which will disengage the spell when done properly.

ONLY TOSS THE JAR IN WATER IF…

  • Using it to banish or exorcise any entities, or if you are working with any ‘questionable’ entities. Running natural water sources will purify it and protect you from their return.

  • It’s successfully removed a curse, a disease, a bad habit, etc.; this is an alternative to burying it at a crossroad.

NOTE: If it floats, puncture the cap with a hole or tie it to a weight.

ONLY KEEP THE JAR ON YOUR ALTER IF…

  • Your goal is an ongoing one that you’d like to keep working on. You can continue to burn candles over the mouth of the jar or shake it while saying your chant to keep it working for you.
  •

Alternatively, if you have a shrine to your God/dess and sought their aid, you can keep it there. Again, shake it occasionally while chanting to keep the power going.

This is actually a good option for spells that are going to require a great deal of time and effort—for example, if you were to do a jar spell to help you pass tests, you might keep it on your altar all through college. You might repeat your chant, burn a candle or shake it the night before exams. This is better than making a new spell for every exam.

ONLY DISMANTLE THE JAR IF…

The spell’s power is no longer necessary and you’d like the effects to stop. For example, if you cast a jar spell to attract love, you might have had many interests for a while. Now, you are getting married and you don’t want to attract any more potential lovers. So you would dismantle the spell.

To do this, remove the contents and bury them at a crossroads or into running water, clean the container and dispose of it. With proper cleansing, you could re-use it.

How to Perform Sigil Magick

Sigils are probably one of the most common kinds of magick we all see in the modern world, but no one seems to notice. Sigil magick is the art of using symbols and imagery to manifest a specific intent or outcome. A meaningless shape or figure that is given meaning by the magician and then deployed, released among the target population to spread like a virus.

The best example of sigils are brand logos. The Nike swoosh or McDonald’s golden arches are both perfect examples of highly powerful magick in action. Just the sight of that yellow ‘M’ on a red background and your mouth waters for french fries. Even Coca-Cola’s cursive font, reminiscent of the green glass bottle, is instantly recognizable in any country no matter the language. It’s not simply that their marketing executives have imprinted their brand names and their products in our minds.

Those symbols evoke actual emotional or even physical responses in us. Seeing the Coca-Cola logo makes you thirsty; the red and yellow hues favored by McDonald’s naturally induce hunger. These symbols, seemingly innocent, have a profound effect on us physiologically as well as psychologically.

So, the head honchos at these massive corporations have utilized the power of sigils to sell billions of cheeseburgers and sneakers. What will you use it for?

Sigils are not good or evil, they’re not black magick or white magick. They are like any other technology—they can be used for whatever purpose suits the user. Businesses use sigil magick everyday to influence people’s feelings, desires and ideas; but the technique can be employed for more benevolent purposes too. For example, influencing people’s feelings in a positive way—like encouraging the desire to donate to a worthy cause—could be a positive use of sigil magick to produce healing and healthy results. In general, you want to avoid sigils that are meant to be coercive or override someone’s free will. Though sometimes, a coercive method may be welcomed by the target, like if a friend asks you to perform magick to help them quit smoking.

Caveats aside, here’s a simple guide to the magickal art of sigil craft. There are many methods but we’ll focus on a simple technique to get you going.

1. DETERMINE YOUR INTENTION.

The first step is deciding what you want and being absolutely clear about it. Don’t be vague about the details because you may regret the manner in which results are produced.

Write down your intent in a single sentence as a declarative statement. So, if you’re trying to bring in more wealth, write something like, “I HAVE A GREAT JOB THAT I LOVE WHERE I EARN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH.” Don’t write, “I WANT A JOB,” because that’s projecting wanting and not having. Write your desire as though it’s already a fact.

2. OBSCURE THE MEANING.

The next step is to obscure the meaning of the sentence. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this task, from using magick squares to astrology. Here, we’ll focus on a very simple method that doesn’t require any magick tables but works just as well.

First, remove all of the vowels from your sentence and jam all the letters together into one massive word. So, using the sentence above as an example, we would be left with:

“HVGRTJBTHTLVWHRRNFVTHSNDDLLRSMNTH.” You can discard any punctuation.

Second, remove all repeating consonants from your sentence. Using the same example, we’re left with:

“HVGRTJBLWNFSDM.”

This seemingly nonsensical string of letters is a code embedded with your intention. It means the same thing as the original sentence, but it can’t be deciphered by anyone but you, giving it added magickal power.

3. DESIGN THE SIGIL.

Here’s the fun part. Now, taking the coded string of letters you’ve got, start designing your sigil by arranging these letters together in ways that further disguise which letters are which. Layer letters on top of letters, arrange them around each other, reverse them, turn them upside down, and add embellishing lines, arrows, circles, stars, moons and swoops to shroud the meaning completely.

Most sigils made in this manner look like weird and witchy chicken scratches, or like an alien language. You can design the sigil to suit your style, as long as its meaning is indecipherable.

4. FORGET THE SIGIL.

Here’s the part most people skip. In order for a sigil to effectively work, the original intention behind the sigil must be so shrouded in mystery, that it should be unknown even to you. That means you have to forget the purpose of the sigil.

Most magicians solve this problem by creating a batch of several sigils for several different purposes all at once (sometimes under the influence of their preferred consciousness-altering potions). Then, the sigils are left in a safe place where no one—including the magician—will see them. Returning to the sigils a month or so later renders them all unintelligible, their real meanings forgotten.

Forgetting serves a practical purpose. Once we cast a spell—and creating a sigil is certainly casting a spell—we must detach from the original longing or desire that led us to cast the spell in the first place. If we dwell on the longing, then we are suffocating the magic of our spell. By letting go, we open ourselves to miraculous possibilities and improbable outcomes. If you continue to dwell on the problem after casting the spell, then your worrying and dwelling will cast a spell of its own, one dominated by longing and worrying. Instead, you must focus on the feeling of success and confidence that the sigil works.

If there’s some urgency to the spell you’re casting and you simply don’t have a month to spare, you can enlist a trusted magickal friend to perform the final step of charging the sigil on your behalf. But both parties must have complete trust in each other to collaborate on such a task. You want to make sure the person charging your sigil knows what they’re doing. And if you’re the one charging a friend’s sigil, you want to make sure you trust your friend’s intention is not destructive or harmful in a way you might regret. Because there’s so much room for incompetence and deception, you only want to charge each other’s sigils after being certain of your loyalty to one another.

5. CHARGE THE SIGIL.

The final step is charging the sigil: filling the symbol with the necessary energy to accomplish its task. The symbol of your desire is just a symbol until you charge it. Whether you call this charging energy ki, qi, prana, mana, or the Force, you can manipulate it with your attention.

There are many different methods for charging sigils, but they all depend on seeing and visualizing the sigil at a moment of mindlessness, i.e.: when the internal dialogue has stopped. So how do you hold the sigil in your attention while stopping your mental chatter? Mindlessness can be generated in many ways. Meditation, fasting, dancing, spinning, physical exhaustion, and orgasm, either alone or with a partner, are all effective ways to achieve mindlessness.

At the moment when the climax of your preferred activity is reached—be it orgasm or mindless spinning—you must visualize the sigil in your mind. It helps to picture the sigil blazing bright with energy, charged and powerful. The sigil will only be charged if there is an absolutely clear mind to visualize it with. The mind is like a lake, and its surface must be still enough to reflect your sigil. If there is a single ripple of thought across the surface of the lake, there will be distortions in the reflection of the sigil, rendering it useless or worse.

When you successfully charge the sigil, you’ll know. A sensation of knowing will come over you, and you will simply know that the sigil has begun manifesting your will. Believe it, trust it, and move forward knowing that the sigil worked.

The Landscape of the Soul

Through the years, we accumulate a series of experiences. Our tendency is to evaluate and simply reflect on what we have been through and what we have learned. This inward site into what we can no longer see with our eyes allows us to see through them through our soul.

The landscape of the soul creates a movement and a synchronistic pattern between our heart and our mind through the inner visions of our soul. When the heart and imagination join forces to look back or look forward, we are deepening our awareness of who we really are. This deepening of who we really are is our soul.

It has been said that “our hearts will not rest until we rest in thee.” This is our journey in life. It is our journey home. It is the journey into the spacial quality of existence that brought us into this world. It is the journey of what is leading us through this life. And, it is the journey back to where it all began.

One could say that the infant and the elderly are more soul than body. As you and I develop our personality and ego, we begin to think we are somebody. Ram Dass calls this “somebody training.” We begin to think we are real and act on this appearance of being as we move into adulthood. When we mature, we go back into what Ram Dass has called “nobody training.”

We spend a great deal of time learning to develop independence from infancy only to lose it again as we die. It is the journey from innocence to grace. The human expression is a journey with many ups and downs. What keeps us on tract and often sane in an insane world is the “landscape of the soul.” The landscape of the soul gives us strength to do the impossible and give us hope when there is none.

Even though all parts of the self needs to be embraced with scrutiny and unconditional love, there is something inside us perfecting our true nature. Our authentic self knows we are growing through life and simply going through life at the same time. This delicate balance between these two forces of nature enables us to stay on our path. It is the path a knowing who we are through the various experiences and expressions of our life. Insodoing, we learn to trust in our soul and find direction there when direction in life is not present.

Bathing with Stones and Crystals

Healing baths are a great way to relax and take advantage of a stone’s healing properties. Even a plain old rock is said to have some healing properties.

The water helps to enhance the stone’s vibrations and this, in turn, will help you become more aware of your own energy. You should notice a new vitality to the water with you to place a rock or stone in the tub.

Sea salt for ten minutes is also considered a relaxing bath. The salt will help all the dead skin slough off and you will be renewed with only a smooth skin without the slippery oil. You can also add some lavender or flower essences to the bath as well for aroma.

Sometimes to get the full healing power of the stone, you can run the bath and let the stone stay in for a while before you get in the water. The energy is absorbed by the water and you will be quite refreshed when you get out.

You can also try holding the stone in the left hand and placing it under the water. You should feel the energy transmitting through the water and back to you.

The most favored stones to bathe with are Quartz crystals and Granite. You may also try Amethyst, Garnet, Citrine, Bloodstone, Agate, and Onyx. Place these in a mesh bag though, you don’t want them to go down the drain.

You want to wash using a few stones in water as they can dissolve. These include Halite, Selenite, Gypsum, Talc, Calcite, and Alabaster.

You could also place the stone in your bubble bath and let it charge until you are ready to use it. Place smaller stones in the shampoo or body wash in the shower. You could place stones in your drinking water or in your hand soap. The possibilities are endless.

Can Dream Interpretation Be A Valid Method For Self-growth?

My answer is YES! But to answer the question of how can it be so…well… to be frank, But to answer the question of how can it be so…well… to be frank, I have no straight answers. All I can say is that the guiding hand of the intelligence of soul/higher self/Source works in mysterious ways. An understanding of our dreams is the most direct way of tapping into this cosmic intelligence. This is one of the easier methods when compared to other means such as clairvoyance training and other psychic developments. The reason for this ease is because most of us dream!

Interestingly, dream interpretation can also be applied in other areas too. It can be and has been used successfully to interpret the symbols of our clairvoyant vision while in meditation. Understanding the symbology can assist one in bridging a transition onto higher and more abstract means of knowing.

There are certain skills that I feel is important for successful dream interpretation. One of which is a developed intuition. Unfortunately, this faculty is something that no dream interpretation software or tool can have. It is something that only we ourselves can nurture.

Intuition is what binds and creates recognisable connections to the seemingly unrelated dream visions and symbols. This, in turn, structures the connections into a cohesive and meaningful message.

Intuition is not mental reasoning. It is simply that inner knowing of feeling/sensing that is beyond logic and reasoning. Intuition is, in fact, a real cognitive process. Unfortunately, our modern civilisation is heavily ‘mental-rationalisation driven’ and therefore is not in the capacity to validate a higher-order process such as intuition. In other words, we have been placing too much emphasis on logic, proving and reasoning.

Intuition, sometimes it doesn’t tell you the outcomes of events. In my cases, it is simply an inner knowing that explains and provides answers.

If the thoughts are those of how superior one really is and is smacked with elitism and pride, then one better take a closer assessment, before getting too carried away. These thoughts might not be intuitions. If they imply things like “You will be rich and famous if you do this’ or ‘she must be wrong as I am smarter’, do double-check. That thought may be coming from the part of the ego/personality associated with body-mind survival.

Ways to Clear Negative Energies Around Your Body

According to new age beliefs, your aura is like a magnet picking up vibrational energies that are all around you in an energy field. This field around your physical body is known as your aura. It is important to cleanse your aura freeing it of foreign vibrations and negative energies. Your aura can experience and exhibit stress, fragmentation, and a loss of luminosity. There are physical and mental ways to cleanse your aura. Take a look at the various ways.

MENTAL CLEANSING

One of the best ways to cleanse your aura is to visualize it and mentally rid yourself of the negativity that may be swirling around you.

Sit in a quiet, distraction-free zone in your house. Stay seated comfortably in a position you can relax for about 15 minutes while practicing breathing exercises. Remain conscious of what you are doing. Be aware of your inhales and exhales. You can even meditate. Once you find yourself beginning to totally relax, form a white light in your mind and have it surround you. Allow it to flow through you, from the tips of your toes to the top of your head and visualize it moving up and down your back.

COMB YOUR AURA

Another visualization exercise that is combined with a physical action is to comb your aura. The way to do this is to wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Spread your fingers into a comb and comb through the space surrounding your body starting at your head continuing downward to the toes.
Afterwards, clean your hands again with running water allowing all combed up energies to be washed away.

CLEANSE WITH WATER

Water has wonderful aura cleansing and energy healing properties. You can either physically wash with water or just visualize water washing over you cleansing your energy.

While in the shower or under an outdoor waterfall, allow the water to flow generously over every inch of your body: head, face, arms, torso, legs, and feet. As you watch the water disappear down the drain breathe freely and imagine all your troubles and stress flowing away from your mind along with the water.

Treating yourself to a saltwater soak is a good way to give your aura a really good cleanout. Salt has wonderful healing properties for the body. An Epsom salt soak or a swim in saltwater does wonders for your aura.

The cleansing properties of the rain on the earth are likewise beneficial for cleansing auras. Walk outdoors in the rain, look up to the sky as you breathe the humid air and allow the raindrops to caress your face. A word of warning, do not do this during an electrical storm. That is not the energy rejuvenation you are looking for.

You can also meditate that a waterfall is flowing over you, instead of water, white light envelopes you and washes away negativity, pain, grief or sadness and cleanses you, refreshing you, making you sparkle. Allow the cleansing to make you feel whole and full of light and beautiful energy.

WIND, SUN, AND PLAY

The word “aura” in Latin and ancient Greek means wind, breeze or breath. Likewise, you can use the wind to help cleanse your aura. When it is windy out, try simply standing outside facing the wind, arms outstretched. Close your eyes and let the wind whip around you, removing and transforming challenging and stuck energies into pure positivity and exhilaration. Free your mind and run freely and playfully in the wind. Feel free to give your body a spin on a grassy lawn or meadow.

This is particularly effective on a sunny day, the sun can be energetically purifying as well.

FEATHER WHISK

Another physical tool you can use to cleanse your aura are feathers, particularly owl or turkey feathers. Using a single feather or a feather whisk, make sweeping motions through the space surrounding your body. Begin at your feet and work upwards, much like a bird would fly from the ground to the top of a tree. Ask a friend to assist by sweeping your backside or any areas around your physical being that you cannot reach easily.

SMUDGE YOUR AURA

The smudging ritual is a Native American one, where smoke from dried white sage or other herbs is used to cleanse the aura. Light the end of the smudge stick or bundle and wait until the flame goes out. The stick will be left smoldering and producing smoke. Encircle the stick around your body, reaching up and down and front and back as far as you can. The smoke will cleanse your energy as it penetrates your energy field. Herbs that are helpful to use for aura cleansing can include sage, lavender, sweetgrass, or other smudging herbs. You can also gently breathe in some of the smudged air.

PROTECT YOUR AURA

Once you have cleansed your aura, you need to protect it from negative energy. One way to protect yourself is to make sure you surround yourself with more positive people than negative ones. Find positive people who always have a smile to offer and have kind souls. These people can help offset negativity in your aura.

If you still feel like you have negative energy, look inward. Start paying attention to your thoughts. Are there a lot of negative feelings? Focus on the bright side of things. If you are having a really bad day, it is OK to express your feelings, but do not wallow. Make your day better. Fill it with something fun, exciting, or fulfilling. If you notice that a negative thought is trying to creep in, confront it with a positive one. If you keep practicing this, you will be able to conquer the effects of negative thinking.

Principles Behind Candle Colors and Their Meaning

Since the beginning of time, colors play an important role in our lives and even when we do creative work or meditate, we can lend distinctive vibrations and focus our intentions better through the burning of different colored candles. Indeed; candle “magick” is an important and much-studied science and art (which many feel, wrongly, is associated with black magick or witchcraft). The ancient Egyptians used color in their Temples of Healing. The Chinese and the Chaldeans used it, as did the mystics of India who associated colors with the chakras. Pythagoras used it for healing. You cannot live without colors, it is your omnipresent companion throughout life. Color is a form of vibrational energy which affects us on different levels. Subconsciously, we all know how we react to different colors. Red, for instance, stimulates and excites us, while blue is calming and soothing. The color of a candle, or of anything in your immediate environment, is like a key which unlocks a certain compartment of your subconscious mind, and of your entire being. Those who cannot see colors can nevertheless feel their vibratory effects, because pigment is matter releasing energy at a certain rate of speed, or wavelength. That wavelength, or frequency activates, or energizes a certain part of your being as it penetrates your sight or your aura. Its impulses are transmitted to your brain along the nerve routes. Each color carries the vibratory effects of one of the Planetary influences, and / or one of the four elements – Earth, Fire, Air, or Water. The actual symbolization of each color will be found to differ with authority, tradition, or school of thought, and in the final analyses, the only actual true authority for you is yourself.

However, if you are not quite sure what each color means to you, or reminds you of, or makes you feel like, here are some universal guidelines from the fields of psychology, art and religion, which you may or may not accept.

PRINCIPLE BEHIND CANDLE MAGICK

Candle magick is based on the same principle as that of color therapy. Different colors have different frequencies which, in turn, have different effects on the human psyche. We can use these effects in a positive manner to enhance our mind power. Likewise, some candles are also fragrant and the different fragrances can also reflect differently on one’s feelings and emotions. Therefore, through candle magick, practitioners can make use of varying fragrances and colors of candles to create different effects for their clients.

Candle magick practitioners often recommend writing names, dates, birthdates and certain symbols on the candle (or its enclosing glass) to reaffirm one’s intentions. Additionally, the candles must be anointed in oil and you can use simple Olive oil or specific essential oils to dress the candle and increase their effectiveness. Based upon the intentions or reasons why you are using candle colors based on their specific meanings, you will require taking a bath or cleansing the mind through meditation. The dressing of the candle is itself a ritual where you must completely focus on the intention while rubbing the oil on the wax of the candle.

According to the science of candle magick, specific candles may be used on specific days of the week, since these colors are also associated with the different Planets. Thus:

Sunday– Gold or Yellow candles.
Monday– Silver, Grey or White.
Tuesday– Red.
Wednesday– Purple.
Thursday– Blue.
Friday– Green.
Saturday– Black or Purple.

CANDLE COLORS FOR HEALING PURPOSE

Candle magick therapists also recommend specific colored candles for addressing different illnesses.

In brief, these are:

Allergies- Violet.
Anxiety- Rose.
Colds- Green/Violet.
Depression- Orange/Indigo/Rose.
Insomnia- Blue.

Burning a purple candle can enhance psychic powers. The color has a meaning steeped in meditation, divination and hidden knowledge. Those who burn purple candles do so to expand upon what they already have. They may also wish to obtain spiritual protection, find recognition, or seek reconciliation with something that exists in the realm of the spirits. Purple is effectively used against black magick, demonic possession, to drive away evil, and for spiritual and psychic healing. It is also used to throw up a veil of spiritual protection. For workings of black magick, purple can be used to incite tyranny, abuse of power, and for bringing sadness and treachery to others. Jupiter rules purple. Workings using the color purple should be performed on Thursdays. Workings for psychic power need the energy of the sixth chakra and the third eye and should be performed on Mondays when the Moon is strongly placed and full. BLACK

Issues, Intentions and Powers:

Black candles are used to fight evil and to provide protection, to absorb or remove, to unblock, for binding, banishing, reversing curses and hexes, uncrossing rituals, absorbing or destroying negative energies, repelling black magick, protection from illness or evil, removing confusion, ridding of bad habits, healing discord, shapeshifting, and meditation rituals. Black candles are often associated with evil magic, but this is not true. Black candles can be used for positive rituals such as those to absorb illness or stop bad habits. Black opens the levels of the subconscious mind, is used in spells and rituals to elicite a deeper meditative state or to ban bad or negative things. Black absorbs all colors and is often used to absorb or banish negativity. Black candles enhance inner strength, resilience and self-control, and can be used in meditation to delve deeper into the unconscious. Also burned for powerful healing and support through loss and grief. The burning of a black candle is serious business. This is done when one wants to neutralize negative energies. The color black offers protection from illness, evil and the negative energy cast upon you from outside forces. The black candle is also burned to harness the healing energy of the universe. Black is the intense concentration of all colors, it absorbs light. Unlike other colors, black reflects very little, if any, light back to the viewer. This can give the false impression that black is the absence of color. It is the absence of color reflection. Think of this color as a black hole in space. It absorbs all light with little or no reflection back, thus it becomes a receptacle or a transport of all that you do not need or want. Properly used, black can be one of the most useful and powerful colors available. However, misused, it can cause disaster. Use black candles to absorb or remove anything, to end something, to remove or encase undesirable energies, to break up a blocked or stagnant situation. The great mystery solver. Represents the Crone aspect of the Triple Goddess, and the unconscious.

Black candles, which are ruled by Saturn, can be potent in all forms of banishing magic, for leaving behind old sorrows and redundant relationships, for acknowledging grief and for rituals of parting. Black, like brown, is the color of acceptance, whether of a restriction or of the frailties of self or others, and so it is a candle color of forgiveness. Black is another earth color, containing both male and female energies. Rituals using these candles are best practiced on a Saturday. Many people consider black to be a negative or sinister color. However, it can also be sophisticated, worldly, and surprising. It is related to secrets and protection. You should not use black candles if you consider them evil or dangerous. Black candles contain enormous power and can be used in magic where you are attempting to discover a secret or are trying to determine the truth about something. Black candles can also be used whenever you want to draw out negative energies, such as an illness. Black candles should not be used by children, or by people who are emotionally drained. This is because black contains powerful energies that need to be handled carefully. A black candle exorcises evil spirits, cures severe diseases, absorbs and destroys negative energy, eliminates obstacles. Used for deep states of meditation, opens deep subconsciousness levels. Can be used to banish evil or ward off negativity as in uncrossing rituals. Also used in destructive magick.

Black is the color of Sorcery and the “Dark Arts,” relating Saturnian energies. As the color of night, black represents foreboding, fortitude, and consistency because of the need to “make it through the darkness.” Black is sometimes used as a protective color for magickal tools, especially handles and wrappings. It is also used when trying to banish a bad habit, turn negativity, or make drastic life changes. Black candles used in workings of destruction are used to incite the slower destruction of enemies, opposed to accidents or sudden attacks associated with the color red. Black is also a good color to use to bring discord and confusion to enemies. Black can be used for protection, binding negative forces, and breaking up obstacles and blocks. Black can also be used to reverse and break up negative thoughtforms. Black absorbs, conceals, creates confusion and chaos, is used for new beginnings, and obtaining knowledge of hidden things. Black is the container of light and is one of the most powerful of colors. Saturn rules black. Saturn is used for retribution and when we have been wronged – revenge. Be careful, you may feel that you need to punish someone at once with a Hex and make them suffer! That is real power, yeah? Wrong! Remember the laws of return and avoid this temptation! This is most probably why Saturn is the teacher. Black influences self-control, endurance, and patience. Spells using black energy are best performed during a waning Moon, on a Saturday when the planet Saturn is strongly placed and waxing. Spells using black need the power of the root chakra. Common Aura Problems and Solutions

What is an Aura you ask? The Aura is the energy matrix that surrounds all living (and not only living) creatures. Particularly for humans, the aura is something that many occultists and scientists tried to study. From Kirlian photos to scrying with crystals, all who take aura as a fact attempted to analyse aura, or even detect possible aura problems. You see, an aura is not just an energy field. But, also, a matrix of information, which can potentially be used to diagnose, or even predict information.

In this article we will try to present you the most common Aura Problems and, of course, remind you how to overcome them.

1. Insufficient connection with the Divine
It is a very common problem, especially nowadays. As many people turn away from spirituality and religion, they forget a very important piece of information about themselves. They are part of something greater, something unique and magical. According to all ancient sources, we have the divine spark within. Thus, we are always in touch with the Great Spirit / God / Goddess.

Reason: Our energy is mainly replenished by the divine source. Additionally, we take energy from food/water and the environment, whilst the earth supports and grounds us. When we neglect our divine source, we actually block the gate of divine energy intake. This makes our aura week. We feel disorientated, sad and uninspired.

Solution: What we have to do is re-establish the connection with the divine, by either praying or spell-casting. Call upon your guardian Angel. Benzoin was believed to invite Angels and welcome them to stay around! You can always burn some Benzoin while calling upon your Guardian Angel.

2. Parasitic Cords
Over time, we socialise and engage in different kinds of relationships. This actually helps humans, a lot, by learning important lessons throughout life’s experiences. The same lessons probably appear again and again until the message is clear and received. However, not all relationships are helpful.

Reason: There are times when we hang out or even are closer to people who have lost their way. Temporarily or not, these people have a lack of energy. This negative energy balance creates a ‘thirst’ or ‘craving’ of energy. To appease that, one needs to ‘connect’ with the victim. However, this is always a challenge for them, as we are gifted with several defence mechanisms. Therefore, these people try to develop a pathological relationship, with mood swings, in an effort to poison our hearts with guilt and pain. This creates a ‘sick bond’ or a parasitic cord, from which these people feast on our vital energy. What modern people call ‘toxic relationships’, witches call parasitic cords for centuries.

Solution: Cord-cutting rituals are the best way to free yourself (spiritually and mentally) from these parasitic cords. Of course, when is needed, psychological assistance should be received, too. The toxic effect may be deep. You may need additional help. It was believed that Pure Frankincense can help you smite the dark energies that suck your spiritual energy. Additionally, peppermint is known to heal the auric wounds, after we cut off such bonds.

3. Cracks in Aura’s Matrix
Aura has a thick – energy shield. This is a very effective defence mechanism we use against lower vibrations, curses and the dark arts. However, sometimes, this shield may crack.

Reason: These rips are usually created after a psychic attack. However, this attack may be psychic in nature, but it can occur in the material plane, in a form of quarrel drenched with psychological weapons. Pain and sorrow create a weakness and this psychic attacks can actually penetrate our shield and eventually crack it. This creates a scar, which opens the door to future attacks.

Solution: Fortify your aura with love and light. One healing word you can use is ‘Ra(m)’. This is the sound of Fire (and light) which can be mastered to feed and shield your aura once again. Sandalwood was used by Witches since the ancient times to help in healing the cracks in one’s aura. Additionally, we would propose Palo Santo.

4. Watchers
We’ve never tried to hide it. Magick is not always good. In Witchcraft and Arcane arts, there are things we love and things we despise. Thus, some practitioners prefer to spy upon their victims, prior dark spell casting. Therefore, they love to create “the Watchers”. Some of us may have them on our aura.

Reason: Watchers are intelligent remnants of Spiritual attack, forced to feed on the target’s aura, while simultaneously reporting for everything the target does or thinks. Therefore, this is one of the darkest forms of Witchcraft. Have you ever felt that someone is always watching you? Knowing what you do? Spying on you? Creating a Watcher is very popular amongst the dark arts.

Solution: As this is actually not an entity but a part of another’s entity, one needs to exorcise it out of their aura. To do that, Witches used to burn Dragon’s Blood, one of the most potent magical materials ever found, according to the old books of Shadows. Usually, Witches burned Dragon’s Blood alone or mixed with bay laurel leaves, clove buds and a dash of red cayenne pepper (do not exaggerate with the cayenne pepper).

5. Chakra Blocks
In our bodies, there are several mechanisms that help the divine energy flow through us. The most well-known mechanisms are the Chakras – wheels that help the energy flow. There are seven major chakras, but many more secondary ones exist all over our body.

Reason: For many reasons, these chakras may be blocked or severely poisoned by our feelings, traumas and other reasons. Unfortunately, this may bring out many problems.

Solution: Witches during their training, were taught that they should periodically cleanse the chakras and help the energy flow! This is not always easy. However, they did believe that there are some recipes that can help them with this issue. Myrrh and Palo Santo (the holy Wood), were amongst the most beloved ingredients for unblocking the chakras.

6. Energy Debris
Our aura is a unique and intelligent matrix of energy. Important information comes and goes. Moreover, this intelligent matrix is not static, for it reacts with anything around. Some times, bad things happen, and the aura reacts by producing defensive energy.

Reason: Aura, can help us deflect a psychic attack. Some times, information is stored from a previous attack, in order to understand what happened and know how to deal with it in the future. This is called ‘energy debris’. It is not ‘bad energy’ is it just the memory stored in astral energy inside our aura. However, this energy might make us feel stagnant and ‘heavy’. This lack of fresh spiritual energy may actually be caused by this debris. We need to periodically abolish it.

Solution: To do so, we need first to meditate and understand the nature of this debris. What caused it? Later, witches used to burn dried agrimony, in order to repel all stagnant and malevolent energy, stuck in our aura.

7. Insufficient Grounding
It’s no secret that as we interact with this plane, we engage in overwhelming activities. This is why we are often flooded by excessive energy. Although this excessive energy is part of a defence mechanism, we should always balance this energy.

Reason: As this energy may cause several imbalances in our chakras and aura, we need to abolish it regularly. This is why grounding is needed. Grounding is a technique which is used by all witches, especially after a ritual, or an overwhelming experience.

Solution: To do so, a witch might employ some herbs and resins to create and multiply the effects. Patchouli has been used extensively for this matter. Furthermore, witches have used Patchouli for smudging to call upon spirits of healing and help them ground. It was considered to aid in meditation and was has been used in all procedures which need mental and spiritual clarity.
